ADJUDICATOR & EXAMINER

Adrian Goss is an Adjudicator member of the British and International Federation of Festivals (BIFF), with over thirty seven years' experience in this field at both international, national, and local festivals and schools, including the National Festival of Music for Youth).  International travel has included in both Ireland and Gibraltar.

 

He specialises in Vocal, Choral and Piano classes and in addition was appointed a general adjudicator in 2014, in recognition of his broad experience as a conductor, teacher and coach, and professional wind player, orchestral & chamber musician and 28 years experience as a Director of Music in two independent senior schools, Director of the Kent Music Academy for the talented and gifted young musician and Head of County Groups for Kent as Conductor and Coach.

In 2011 Adrian was elected a full Member of the Adjudicators' Council, which represent the interests of music, dance and speech adjudicators, and responsible for the assessment and selection of potential new adjudicators. He was elected Vice Chair in 2013, subsequently asked by the Council to become its Chair, holding this position from 2014 until 2024. During this time he instigated and led on the new Federation-wide Marking Scheme across all disciplines and the reform of the rigorous assessment process for potential adjudicators. In recognition of his work, both for the Federation and as an adjudicator working in the field he was accorded the prestigious honour as a Fellow of The British & International Federation of Festivals in September 2024.

He was an Examiner to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for fifteen years for both diploma and grade examinations.
